After 57 years of independence, 73 million children are deprived of their right to education in India. This is the official estimate. Unofficially the situation is even worse. The victims are spread from rag pickers in the country to camel jockeys 'exported' to the Middle East.
Lives begin and end in dustbins. The nation boasts of space technology. The hullabaloo of nuclear test shadows the official estimate of 152.5 million working children, welding cars in garages, making crackers, glassware, paint, brassware and so on. They are never unemployed! Being sexually abused is more natural than to be educated.
We at Free The Children - India are concerned for the little hearts deprived of their rights.
